Norman Henry Worsley

June 27, 1924 - February 18, 2021

Norman Henry Worsley SQMSI, was a true military man and being in the Royal Engineers was the highlight of his life.

He joined the Royal Engineers Army Cadets at Brampton Barracks, England in 1938 before enlisting for 12 years on November 5th, 1942. He served in Egypt in 1950 for two years during the Suez Crisis.

Norman met Edna Buckborough, his wife of 68 years, whist in the army. Edna was a L/Cpl in the ATS. They immigrated to Calgary, Canada, in 1976 to join their children Robert and Heather and their families.

Walter Siegle

Walter Siegle

June 27, 1920 - July 2, 2020

Walter served our country honorably in the “King’s Own Rifles” regiment from the age of 22 – 26. He was then discharged in 1946, soon after World War II ended. 

During the war, Walter was a rifleman. He arrived in the UK on April 14, 1942 and would later be sent to Holland where he served until the end of the war. 

To HONOUR Veterans both past and present, generous donations have been made through the Community Kitchen Program and their partnership with the Veteran’s Food Bank of Calgary, ensuring that Veterans have access to fresh fruits and vegetables.
